We are offering some routes via mountain or racing bike through beautiful areas within the Sirente Regional Natural Park and the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga.
Immersed within the nature of Abruzzo, you will get to know the medieval villages, the old villages of the mountain shepherds, the ancient shrines of the saints, the natural caves and the many local traditions still alive in the area. You will have the opportunity to taste the local food- and if you want- even to take a short cooking class taught by the locals! Every night you will stay in cottages or homes that are located in the medieval villages of the area and eat typical dishes of Abruzzo.

Individual arrival or transport to Villa Sant’Angelo with accommodations in the La Villa Farm. Visit the village and caves of Stiffe, which are beautiful and characterized by the presence of an underground river that produces beautiful waterfalls inside the mountain.
After breakfast depart for the Pagliare: a location with ancient mountain villages for season farmers in the valley. Packed lunches. From the Pagliare you will get a guided tour of the Goriano Valli medieval village and the “Vineyard More” farm and the opportunity to taste organic products and experimental wines. Overnight stay in the inn within the village of Goriano Valleys.
After breakfast, we will walk along the old path that the mules used to carry blocks of snow collected on Mount Sirente downstream. Along the way we will the villages of San Lorenzo and Secinaro Beffi, as well as Lake Fortitude. Lunch at the Mountain Chalet Sirente. Overnight stay at the agrotourism house in San Lorenzo Beffi.
Today there is no cycling. Guests are free to decide how they would like to spend their day: resting, going to the Sinizzo lake, visiting wineries, a visit to the historic city of Sulmona etc. You will be staying in the village of Fontecchio.
After a hearty breakfast, the journey turns away from Fontecchio towards Caporciano, the place where you will spend the night in a farmhouse. During the tour you will visit: the Hermitage of St. Erasmus, a beautiful refuge in the mountains with a view of all the mountain ranges of Abruzzo; the village of Bominaco with a visit to the beautiful medieval frescoes of the Oratory of San Pellegrino, the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, and the Medieval Castle of Bominaco.
After breakfast, you will leave Caporciano to reach the town of Fagnano Alto where you will be staying. The path follows the old Tratturo: the ancient path traveled by the shepherds to bring their herds to graze in the mountains. During the tour you will visit the archaeological excavations of Peltuinum, an ancient Roman city built in the first century BC, and the medieval castle of Prata d’Ansidonia.
After breakfast we will depart to reach the city of L’Aquila. Along the way we will visit the Fossa Chocolate Factory, the “historic” Aveja biscuit company, and go straight to the Piazzo Duomo in L’Aquila to taste the delicious nougat at the Brothers Nurzia.

By car from Roma/Teramo: exit L’Aquila east from A24, drive in the direction of Pescara, follow SS17 towards Pescara until you reach the SS261 junction, keep to the right in the direction of San Demetrio – Molina Aterno, after 15 Km you will arrive in Fontecchio.
By bus either from L’Aquila and from Sulmona with Arpa bus lines
By train, railway line Terni-L’Aquila-Sulmona until you reach the Fontecchio train station (2 km from the village center).
