These parks are true moments to European biodiversity thanks to the thousands of different plant and animal species they host.

Arrival and accommodation in the medieval village of Fontecchio. Meet with the guide for an explanation of the tour. Guided tour of the village, at the Museum “Memoria all’Oasi faunistica del Capriolo.” Dinner with traditional dishes.
Trekking up to the Pagliare, an ancient mountain farming village that is now abandoned. Packed lunch. Trekking to the village of Goriano Valleys; guided tour of the medieval village and farm “Vigna di More” and a tasting of organic products. Overnight stay in local facilities.
Trekking up to the hermitage of St. Erasmus, a beautiful medieval building in the high mountains with a view of all the mountain ranges of Abruzzo. Packed lunch at the Hermitage. Check-in at Caporciano and overnight stay at the farmhouse.
Trekking towards the village of Ofena. Visit the Ciucolandia farm and taste donkey’s milk and lunch made with local products; Visit the village of Ofena and stay overnight in the cottage.
Trekking towards the picturesque village of Castelvecchio Calvisio, originally eliptical in shape and situated within the boundaries of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Parks. Guided tour of the village, the old mills and wineries in the country. Dinner prepared with local products: honey, cheeses, meats, lentils and beans. Overnight stay in tourist facilities in the vacinity.
Trekking to the ancient medieval castles in the area and then towards the village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, which belongs to the “Most Beautiful Villages in Italy Club”. Visit the village and handicraft shops. Accommodations in housing facilities in the country.
Horse trekking to Campo Imperatore, one of the largest plateaus in Italy, famous for its plant and animal biodiversity as well as its eagle, hawk, and crow habitat. Lunch of kebabs, delicious local dishes made of mutton. Overnight stay and dinner in provided facilities.
By car from Roma/Teramo: exit L’Aquila east from A24, drive in the direction of Pescara, follow SS17 towards Pescara until you reach the SS261 junction, keep to the right in the direction of San Demetrio – Molina Aterno, after 15 Km you will arrive in Fontecchio.
By bus either from L’Aquila and from Sulmona with Arpa bus lines.
By train, railway line Terni-L’Aquila-Sulmona until you reach the Fontecchio train station (2 km from the village center).
