Another village in the valley is the small town of Fagnano Alto, whose territory is divided into smaller divisions; among these divisions, great importance has the ancient fortified village of Castello, where tourists can find a castle called “Ofanianum”, which the name of Fagnano is derived from.
In the picturesque village of Ripa, the most populous municipality in that region with its nearly 100 inhabitants, visitors can see the cave church of St. Rocco, situated on a natural terrace where people can enjoy a wonderful view. Inside the small sanctuary are two altars and frescoes.
